 Project Showcase

The Policy Options Project in China began in 2005.  The focus of the first five years was environmental sustainability and good governance in the areas of human rights, democratic development, transparency, accountability, anti-corruption and rule of law.

A total of 35 sub-projects were implemented during the period October 2005 – December 2010.  Three sub-projects stand out in the current areas of focus, ethnic minority rights, labour rights and rule of law.  These sub-projects are:

Ethnic Minority Rights

  • 2009-20:  A Policy Proposal for the Rescue, Protection and Development of the Language of  the Qiang Ethnic Minority after the Wenchuan Earthquake

Labour Rights

  • 2006-11:  Public Policy Investigation on Occupational Health and Safety of Chinese Laborer from Countryside

Rule of Law

  • 2007-10:  The Ethnic Criterions of the Public Service and Building up the Honesty in Administration
