Goal & Purpose
The goal of the Policy Options Project in China (POP) is to contribute to enhanced ethnic minority rights, labour rights and rule of law protections for marginalized groups in China. The purpose of the project is to strengthen the capacity of Chinese local governments to formulate and implement policies that contribute to enhanced protection of the rights of ethnic minorities and other marginalized groups in China by enabling an exchange of ideas, models, experience, and expertise with Canadian policy makers, practitioners, and experts.
Two categories of sub-projects will be supported during the extension period. The first category will be standard sub-projects that include a relatively small number of activities, are of a short duration (one to two years), and involve a CIDA contribution of up to C$ 300,000. The second category will be large sub-projects of a longer duration (two to three years), with a greater number of activities, and a CIDA contribution of up to C$ 1 million.
